For me, that isn't unusual.  :)

I just find a 4v idle easier to deal with then either of my 2-4 set ups.

My 428cj was a bear to idle by contrast to my Boss 302. The differences in chokes is part of that.

We all must find our own way to what works best and often have uniquely different experiences. Always searching for something better where perfect does not exist is likely part of the issue for me.

Periodic variations in fuel formula doesn't help the issue either. I find myself longing for the old leaded 103 formula until I experience the flavor of the exhaust.

Realizing the variables helps to formulate an acceptable solution eventually.
