"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

We got nailed one night in a 275 GTB Ferrari with no plates. There were a couple FBI guys who went to Europe every other year and brought back an old Ferrari to resell. My friend did the smog and federalization work on the cars. One had just arrived so around 11pm we took it out. Drove it nice for a little while and when we got on the cul de sac where the shop was he decided it was time for a speed run. Turn around at the end and start back and there are 3 cops standing in the street (burglar alarm had gone off at a different building). Speeding, no plates, no papers, no name on the shop, finally the electric bill was sitting there with the address and my friends name on it - that and "c'mon man wouldn't you like to make a pass in a Ferrari?" got us cut loose.

Quick thinking and innovation generally save the day. These stories should get memorialized.

Yes it would appear so. Not much has changed.
