For Sale:  289 Hipo Engine dated late 1966.  A very nice short block engine built by well known engine builder Don Hoevel.  It's very hard to find a good K code engine dated from October of 1966 these days.

The block:    Dated 6K17 (October 17, 1966) with a 6K19 hot run date.  The crank is a non-original Hipo, 1M.  It has brand new cylinders which were machined to 0.020 over.  Correct main caps, connecting rods, flywheel, gear set, Hipo hatchet and timing chain.  A correct timing cover and Hipo water pump as well as correct motor mounts included.  The block still needs to be decked, but it's very solid,  My engine builder John informs me that he found a partial VIN number stamped on the block that can barely be seen, but in his opinion, it is not correct from the factory.

The Heads:  Both are dated 6K27 (October 27, 1966).  Someone added guide plates, but the push rod holes are stock correct and not enlarged.

That's a rare engine...personal knowledge of that. Is it in North Carolina now?
