"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Excellent article,  they should have expanded on the coyote as it is currently the number one transplant being used.

Just one line

"but it was the 5.0-liter Coyote that really cemented the Modular's legendary status."

the 5.4 in the "modular" family is certainly a rugged workhorse... with many lasting hundreds of thousands of miles in Ford Trucks and Vans. I'm pretty sure that the "million mile van" used it.
That motor with the supercharger on top also worked pretty good in the Ford GT. 8)

My worthless two cents...
Ford's 'best' V8? The small block Windsor. Cheap, reliable, and powerful. Its Ford's small block Chevy so to speak. And, btw the 289 is the only American V-8 to be named by the FIA.
Past owned Shelby's:
1968 GT-350--Gold
1970 GT-500--#3129--Grabber Orange.
Current lifelong projects:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase heads, intake with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style
1968/70 Olds 442 W-30

I'm changing mine at 300,000 just because I don't want any surprises towing long distances with our Excursion.

Henry's 999 racecar had 289 cubic inches - per cylinder for a total of 1,156.

They forgot this one

The Ford's with the BB Chevy looking heads is there - 335 Series, aka Cleveland 1969–82
