Odin and Thor rain down their contempt upon the "fine" citizenry of Chicago yesterday with lightning and today with pouring rain. I don't believe the current iteration of NASCAR race cars have windshield wipers. Looks like a washout. Ticket prices started at $200 and as high as $600 plus.

Addendum: They do have windshield wipers.  Just saw them on a clip from yesterday.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

I'm actually a NASCAR fan, but I still thought this was funny.

Good one! Truth in humor.

I wonder if they had less shootings than usual because of the races. I think 10 to 15 is the norm.

Overkill is just enough.

To make it more entertaining I thought it might be more challenging (and rewarding) to the drivers if they directed part of the course circuit to run through a high crime area. Winning doesn't mean surviving.

I gotta agree.  Why doesn't NASCAR go racing in the rain?  Throw some rain tires on get at it?  I drive in the rain, everyone drives in the rain, except NASCAR.   Somebody explain to me why?

NHRA also doesn't run in the rain. Running the drags at 300+ mph in 1000 feet, it makes sense to not try it wet.

But, NASCAR is a different animal. Plus, at 200 mph, how much rain could possibly stick to the windshield? C'mon guys...LeMans has been racing in the rain, at night, for how many decades now???  NASCAR needs to give it a shot.

Develop some good rain  tires for those vehicles, throw on some wipers.easy as pie... 8)besides it would make"roundy round"racing (somewhat )more compelling...
