There were two Scuderia Filipinetti cars at the April tests at Le Mans in '66 P/1039 & P/1040, what is confusing is that at one point

both cars had the same number (image)  at that event, hard to tell apart, there are subtle differences between the two, you can

see that one car has a little opening just above the rear window, and I think ? there was a difference in the door numbers, one car

the number carried below the bottom door cut out, I stand to be corrected on that. I'm not sure at which point & which car had the

rear fenders cut out, I read through my books and couldn't find a definite answer to that.

Some here can probably come up with that information.

Looks like the Rear Wheel Opening was cut.

joephil & Rich, thanks for the added photos (not seen some of them) and info concerning the numbers.

In my copy of the Ford That Beat Ferrari (pub. 2005 2nd. edition ?) the description above the image I've include says that one

car arrived on wires & the other on Halibrands, but both used Halibrands for the practice runs.

That contradicts the evidence we have in the photo in post #2923 above posted by joephil, that shows one car on wires in the rain

on track ? Rich seems to have it right as well in post #2929.

We can just see the other car on the right with Halibrands.

Picture taken by Rick McCloskey on Van Nuys in 1972.

I feel like some of his photos from this shoot have been posted already?

More pics on YouTube.

OOOOH what a fun place to be when I was a youngen. The stories that street could tell would fill up more books and magazines then a person could pour over in a lifetime. Good Times... I instantly had a moment of reflection seeing that pic! Pure Awesomeness.

Turns out that McCloskey retired up to Yelm in Washington state. Saw him being interviewed on a local newscast.

As long as they paid the licensing fee, it's all good.
