The 1988 LX Mustang was a hot seller in the LA District when I was a Field Manager.
Big issue in LA is everyone wanted an automatic LX and CAFE restricted builds.

       Several decades ago we use to make those sort of modifications to the six-cylinder heads (one has to machine off the integral casting of a one-barrel manifolding and affix the new! )  so as to adopt multiple carburetion.  The problem is rarely is anyone satisfied for long, and although coupled with other speed-parts the old sixes could be made to run surprisingly quicker, but in the end one comes to the conclusion that..........."You-Kudda-Had-A-V8"!
