Yes, one of our WASAAC members ID'd the location as Martin Way in Olympia.

It would be interesting if one of the WASAAC members would do a little more investigating at the State patrol office, talk to some of the good ole boys still working and see if they remember any information on one of their fellow troopers from the past, I'll bet they have pictures on the wall of fame from past troopers, ect. Show the old picture around, who knows what will turn up...........maybe another Shelby ;)

Biggie,
I don't follow your thought of a conversion to inboards on the WA state / trooper photo.
That is not something I can imagine ever happened.
A conversation to outboards at a dealer yes, but not the other way around to inboards.

I would agree...

That’s kinda what I’m getting at. Photo looks really old but that doesn’t look like an early car for several reasons but has inboards.
Conundrum

Biggie, can you state what is in the images that makes you think it's not an early car?

It does look like an early car for a number of reasons - but what is your definition of "early"?

If the car is as Rich thinks (and I agree with him) that it maybe around #9XX then that is an early car - the first 1/3 or so depending on San Jose build date and SA completion date.  Granted it may not be a very early car with a under #2XX, with angled grille and painted headlight trim rings but the tail end also has the correct early features for a first 1/3 of SA completion cars.

I guess it’s just a later inboard car. I didn’t realize a car at late as 1000 could have inboard lights.
Maybe I jumped the gun.

Yes, inboards run much later than #1000 in the production run

With these WA State car photos the grille emblem is a quick sign of the later, vertical inboard version.
We see the vertical inboard grilles up until about the #2000-2100s.

Couldn't figure out which thread this should go in, can any one tell me what make are the wheels on this "Comstock" Canada, Mustang, I haven't found many good photos of them.

I think they are the same wheels on the Falcon chassis mule.

I don't believe this is 5R096, I think this is the second car the team had, that was referred to as  their Canadian built version. any history on this car ?

#94 is 5R096.....#93 is the Comstock Racing team Ford Mustang Fastback (I think it was made from a former Shell 4000 rally car (1964.5 model)?)  The #93 Mustang has a different hood scoop and front valance as the most notable differences:

The wheels that you are trying to identify are Halibrand #7011 magnesium mags now reproduced in aluminum.  They were option wheels for Studebakers.  Here's the link for the company that is currently re-making them:

kranky & TJinSA, thanks for your replies, I'm pretty sure those are the wheels.

kranky, thanks for the I.D on 5R096, I got confused because the car in my post above doesn't have that bump on the right front corner of the hood, that came later to clear a Harrison overflow or oil tank.

Was there a thread on the old forum on Comstock Canada ? If there isn't one now, maybe I'll start one.
