Mike,

I've been trying to figure out where this was taken for many, many, years.
 :-\
My best guess is 1964 from the #99 csx2128 at Watkins Glen or maybe Greenwood.

Can anyone help with this one?

#97 is John Morton's Lotus 23....the event is the June 1964 Watkins Glen USRRC races (June 26-28, 1964)....that would account for the Graham Shaw Cobra in the photo.  It could not be the Greenwood USRRC event (July 18-19, 1964), because Graham Shaw was still recovering from an accident the following weekend at Lake Garnett (July 4-5, 1964)....Shaw's Cobra flipped end over end and side to side....he had collapsed lungs, several rib fractures and vertebrae and several other internal injuries.

THANK  YOU  KRANKY  !!!

Watkins Glen it is. You even wrapped it in a nice bow with all the extra details.

Didn't realize Graham Shaw had such a terrible accident at Lake Garnet.
No wonder I didn't have any photos of csx2409 there or anywhere else after the WG race.

Rich & Kranky, thanks for the info on that photo, I wonder if those cars are at a dealer, or garage in Watkins Glen, or somewhere in the vicinity. some teams utilized these locations. I noticed there is a time clock on the wall behind the cars.

My first time at the Glen was for the Grand Prix in '64, and many visits since, I don't remember the garages at the track looking like that,  all the years have blurred together, but to quote from a John Prine song, "So often remembered, that the memories are worn" !)

No problem Rich and Honker....if you are able to get your hands on a program....sometimes there are local ads in the program showing "car so and so" sponsored by a local dealer for the event....as in sometimes this logic rings true, but not all the time....which could possibly lead to the actual garage the photo is from.  Both events (Greenwood and Watkins Glen) seemed to use the same numbers #97, #98 and #99).

I was able to find another photo of a garage at Watkins Glen, in color too, but it does not look nearly the same as the other you posted.
csx2431 in the foreground.

I would probably have to guess and say that this was the tech inspection garage....the cars look "too clean"....showing no grit and grim.

The Mustang and the Fairlane were customized by the Alexander Brothers for Bob Tasca.

The Mustang was called the "Tasca 505".

here it is when it was new in the Tasca showroom. I use to go there to see what I could find lurking around the dealership.  8)

Grumpy, thanks for those photos of the "Tasca 505", I also spent my younger days lurking around dealers , picking up brochures, and sitting in cars, and dreaming  :)

And Rich for the photo of the Cobras in the garage at Watkins Glen, that is a new one for me.

period pictures are really great  8)

Wow Grumpy - those photos are incredible!!

So those are the actual prints of photos that you took?

Do you recall approximately what the date was?

Anybody know if that Mustang survived? Was it Bob Tasca's personal Mustang or was it offered for sale?

Cool stuff and love the high quality color pics from Watkins Glen, etc.

Any idea what this emblem/sticker denoted?

Also notice the tach pod on the dash.
