Rest in Peace, Mr. Rosen.  I looked him up to confirm what I thought I knew, that he was the creator of the Baldwin Motion Camaros, Chevelles and Corvettes.  I think he did a Motion Cobra as well.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

R. I. P. Mr Motion
That was the Cobra.  There might have been another.  A 427 Cobra or?

In the first photo, that's veteran car mag writer/editor Marty Schorr on the left. (He posts on the forum occasionally. Great guy.)
I don't know that guy on the right.

In the photo of the Cobra wheels-up, there's lengthy thread from a few years ago discussing if that's a real or staged (phony) shot.

Clues include the amount of wrinkle of the slick's sidewall.

Jack-stands could be cut-out of a photo print, even back then.  If someone finds the actual transparency, that will tell the true story.

I think that may be Cliff Gromer.

Royce, I think you're correct. Thanks.  (Edit: Upon seeing pix of Gromer online, I'm not so sure it is him in the above photo.)

Those three men may look like they'd have belonged more at a Shriner's Club event instead of a major street racing show-down, but they were part of East Coast car mags and street racing.

Cliff Gromer, for those that do not know, has been the Editor in Chief for many years at Mopar Action. Prior to that he was Editor in Chief of Car Craft. Way back when he was one of the staff writers who worked for Joel Rosen when Joel was Editor in chief at Cars and Hi Performance Cars magazines.

Cliff was never editor-in-chief of Car Craft.  I've personally known every CC editor since the late '70s, and I know the names of the rest, and he wasn't one of them.

Gromer, Schorr, Oldham, etc., were East Coasters.  They didn't usually mix with us SoCal guys.

Gromer may have been Editor of CARS Magazine...that was a NY/NJ publication.  Can't think of the publishing company's name...it'll come to me at 3AM.

Cliff was never editor-in-chief of Car Craft.

I did an internet search and that came up - I did not think he was either as I was a subscriber from maybe 1967 - the end of that magazine. David Freiburger was perhaps my favorite editor and Steve Magnante the most interesting writer. My favorite feature car was the Cadillac powered Chevette of course.

Here's a history of sorts - it takes a long time to read.
