Monte Carlo bars
« on: July 30, 2018, 08:32:48 AM »
Another member and I where having a chat the other day about the differences between a repo and an original Monte Carlo bar, is it thickness of tubing? Welds? Holes in the top? I looked at a repo once and they seem light and thin in comparison to mine. And insights
Cheers

A give away is that the originals have the bar welded flash with the top of the brackets
while many repos are welded lower on the brackets.

The repro I'm selling at SAAC 43 is heavier tubing than my original. Other than that it is OK except for the obvious seam in the tubing.

Also keep in mind that there have been and continue to be tons of different reproduction Monte Carlo bars on the market. Some different than the originals, and some that are very difficult to distinguish from the originals.

Cheers Brant, agree some of the welds look different. The original tubing I think is larger diameter then some repos?
