Hello friends

The last time I had to purchase a 24 series for one of our Mustangs we paid about $50 u.s. dollars

Five years later I walk into our local auto parts  store and ask for the same battery and I get a reply of its $200 +

Wow !

I replied well let me consider that. The salesperson came back , you need it , its dead.

Again let me consider that.

Took my heavy battery to the car and looked up on Costco's and BJs site.

Same battery for about half the price. It's off to the big box outlets

Put my auto lite cover on top and walla, Its a 100 point car !

All kidding aside check prices before buying the first battery out there.

Happy motoring

What about the plastic tab on the width of the battery?  Other than the reproduction Sta Ful offered by some Mustang outlets, what other battery will properly fit a 66 Shelby Mustang?  I still have the old Exide in mine but once that dies, the only option I see is the Sta Ful repro.  Battery manufacturers have taken that tab away.

On a non tab battery I used a couple of large hose clamps screwed together with filed small grooves in the case for the bands to bite into.  With the clamps tight and the stock hold downs covering and holding the clamp heads down, the battery is locked in place. Paint the clamp bands black and you're in business.

That's a rather ingenious solution.  Thank you.  I will use it if/when the time comes where my choices are limited to nonexistent for the right battery.

You lucky dog ! You have two, yes two SELCO outlets near you !

Pues uno en Los Angeles y el otro en el barrios precioso de Pasadena.

And you and I know that their batteries look almost like the
O. E. M. baterries our cars brought back in the day.

Bandido you paying fifty dollars a pop.

You will be known to all as "Pancho Shelby Villa"
