1966 Shelby 1/4 window trim
« on: August 11, 2018, 06:19:44 PM »

Im looking to see if anyone has a nice used set of interior 1/4 window trim panels.  Would buy a NOS kit if somehow someone had one of those too.
Need it for an early 66 Hertz Shelby I am finishing.

Call, or message.

Those look salvageable.  We did mine in a low heat (summer sun helps) and slow mild press process to remove the buckling, but there were no chips, just a few cracks to touch up.   8)

The one with the rivet holes intact can have the warp taken out and be made to be usable. The other ones aren't worth the effort to try and fix IMO.

Yeah the issue is with the chips broken out of them.....if they were just warped a bit all I need to do is put them outside here in Phoenix for 5 minutes this time of year and they would be fixed...   :)

I warmed our warped ones up then clamped them in between some 1x4's to cool down. Ended up perfectly straight but also shrunk 3/4 inch in length!

I did the same successfully, but as is previously noted, some of the material around the rivet holes is missing and I have no idea if there is a repair method to effectively replace the material.  Unfortunate.

Does anyone know who the original vendor was?
Owned since 1971, now driven over 245,000 miles, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎
