Pretty cool.    But the narrator also says that power steering never caught on.    They don't know why.  Ancient history  ::)

I saw an old film of a mid-1950s Cadillac with the same sort of setup.

I'd love to see the mechanicals that drop the spare tire and power it.  A second driveshaft that only operates in reverse?  Or something like a PTO?

Or, a little guy in the trunk with Popeye arms?
