What determines whether a 67 Shelby had a plastic tank or a bag? I see both on nice cars. Is there a cutoff date that determines what should be original to any particular car? Thanks

This was one of the Ford Running Changes.  Cars built at San Jose mid- to late March and after got the molded plastic reservoir.

There was also a change of the windshield washer squirt nozzles (Ford too), from single to dual, this took place mid-April.

There is a article on '67 Running Changes in the Fall 2013 "The Shelby American" issue.

If you are a member of SAAC you can download/print it from the www.SAAC.com website member's section past issues of The Shelby American, steps below...

Great, fascinating, thanks! A resource I didn't know I had when I joined a year ago. I'll spend more time there. Now if I can find a car!

A bit offtopic, I heard that the whindshiel washer+bag was not on every 67 mustang from factory. I had many mustangs 67/68 and at some it really appeared like its true because all the parts for it were complete missing and they were pretty original cars with 1-2 owners unrestored.

Direct link to downloads JD referred to. They are fantastic. The Spring 2013 issue Covers the 427 cars and Mr. MoJo Risen's car.

Edit; Whoops, the 427 cars are in the fall issue as well.   ::)
