Having owned it for 26 years and being 85+, the owners have decided it’s time to sell their 1965 289 Cobra CSX 2544.
The car has several very good features and we have an idea of the selling price we would like. We thought, however, we would leave the final price up to reasonable offers from those interested. Having made up our mind to do this, we would like the sale to happen soon.
Some brief details for your consideration:
Calif. black license plate, 87 K miles, originally owned by Ms. Carol Connors of “Hey Little Cobra” fame, 3 owners since.
Original 5 bolt, numbers matching, motor with cast iron “Cobra” scatter shield bellhousing. Weber carburetors. Motor freshened 2015 at 84K miles, Evans coolant.
British racing green with Halibrand magnesium 9.5 inch GT40 wheels (have 5). Pin drive, side pipes, roll bar and aluminum fender flare coachwork by Mike McCluskey.
Heim joint suspension, rear mount battery, original windshield (?), original jack, custom made narrow spare wheel.
20+ year participant in the invitational “Cobra 1000” Tour. Have driven 12 western United States.
On loan to Peterson Museum for display during the 2006 “Cars & Guitars of Rock & Roll” Event.
Primarily pleasure driven plus many tour and show events. No track days or Vintage Racing.
