To all,

Please see below, as a 1967 Shelby GT350 (with undocumented owner history - until 3 weeks ago) has been found!  This car is #2666 and I purchased the car just over a week ago from the second owner's estate (Robert Mejia).  The first owner (Daniel Mejia - the first cousin of Robert Mejia) originally purchased the car in 1967 from Mel Burns Ford of Long Beach, CA after he separated from the Air Force.  In 1972, Daniel sold the car to Robert, as Daniel was going through a bitter divorce and wanted to offload the car.  Since its original sale, this car had never left California until it was delivered to my house yesterday afternoon.  This car has had one repaint to black soon after it's original purchase, incredibly original / rust free, and is believed to have 10,454 original miles.

I'm very excited to share this car (and it's story) with all.  The below blog posting via Virginia Classic Mustang (thanks, Brant!) details a little bit about the car's history and ownership.

I'll be bringing this car to the MCA National in Houston, TX next weekend for the "Mustangs Take Flight" show in case you are in the area and would like to see the car.  And, I'd love to meet you all as well!

Many thanks to Aaron Stauber of Big 3 Performance who provided me with the lead on this car (and has restored many cars for me - I would say he's one of my best friends...even before sharing this lead  ;D), Dave Mathews for helping me authenticate and validate the car, and the family of Robert Mejia (especially Mark Castillo - the nephew of Robert) who were so welcoming and willing to share the car's history with me.

For those I consider close friends: my apologies for not reaching out sooner with the good news.  Truly, there were some major hiccups during this journey of 3 weeks (which, at times, felt like 3 years!), and I didn't want to share until the car was safely in my garage.

Have a fantastic weekend fellow Shelby fans!

Congratulations on the acquisition, look forward to the detailed reveal.

My California Special also came from Mel Burns Ford.

Wow!  What a great find Ruben.  One owner and all original.  That is a rare car.
I was feeling bad for you selling #0022 and look what you found to start the process all over again!
Candle Apple Red - My favorite color on a Mustang or Shelby!  My first car was a 66 Mustang coupe with candle apple red paint.
Is Virginia Classic Mustang going to restore the car for you?
See you at Mecum auction.

Ruben - Nice Find!

So do you know what you're going to do, clean-up, get running/road worthy and drive or full restoration?

Get plenty of photo's of all that original stuff!!

Nice find Ruben.

Not many still have the Thermactor systems in place. Looks like it was in the same build group as one I owned a while back 2637

Good luck and enjoy

Awesome find Ruben!  I own a '68 Mustang but have always been partial to '67 Shelbys.  Have fun with it!
