Is this book a good read?  I've had it sitting on my shelf for years but never picked it up.

I purchased my copy in New York City in 1965.

As for reading it, yeah you should. It covers his career and I'm sure "as told to" author John Bentley executed some liberty with reality, particularly at this point in Shelby's career. But it does cover his whole racing experience up to 1965. Maybe best of all there's an index, so you can look up names, like John Wyer and Mrs. Carroll Shelby (at that time).

There are three printings of The COBRA Story hard back,  plus a hard back titled Carroll Shelby's The COBRA Story (not sure how many printings) and a paper back The Carroll Shelby Story.

I have all 3, all signed also the Series 1 Book (signed).

Coincidently, a previous owner of my '65 was preparing to move and just last week boxed up a bunch of old Shelby books, magazines and pictures he came across and mailed them to me. Among the books was a copy of The Carol Shelby Story and I was just about to start reading it.
