Ah yes, Sports Car Graphic. What a great magazine. Ill have to go dig up my collection from the mid 60's and see what's in there. I forgot I even had them.

Thanks Phillip

From the Bothel Brothers collection's "yard sale".

I always wonder how it can be called First Annual if you don't know if there will be a second...

That is also a very good piece of art, one of the better shown here and there have been some nice examples.

Wish I had a better scan - this is by one of my personal artist type heroes, Ed "Newt" Newton.

Newton did a lot of the work that came out of Roth Studios (Ed "Big Daddy" Roth") in the 1960s.

Did anyone else doodle in elementary school with drawings like this? My book covers were full of them.

Oh yeah - drew all of the time as long as I can remember and have managed to make a career of it. Got in trouble in class for doing that or reading comic books.

Rat Fink, Weird-Ohs, Monsters, Hot Rods, Rock 'n' Roll, Hot Wheels - I mean, whoever was the first to combine Hot Rods, Monsters and Rock 'n' Roll was a genius in my book.

Yes!!  Constantly.  My fav was drawing the Red Baron Hot Rod designed by Tom Daniel. Of course, I didn't know the designer when I was in 7th grade.  We (my Buddies), loved drawing these hot rods back in the day (circa 1975). We also drawed action heros!!

I'd give my eye teeth to have kept some of those drawings.
