Sagan copied me, I swear! Oh wait, that wont work, he died before I started using it....well, it's still true. ;)

I once saw Stephen Hawking at Cambridge . My companions said, "Who that guy in the wheel chair? He can't possibly be famous"

Those are my only two encounters with famous astronomers.

I do know Bob Gaines, that's pretty remarkable!

One of my favourite sayings, right up there with "can't fix stupid"
Life is 1% what happen to you and 99% how you react to it.

In the E.R., the  saying  goes: " you can't fix stupid, but you can sedate it."

.   In a nutshell:He was working at Caltech one summer and living in our neighbor Murray Gell-Mann's (recently deceased 1969? Nobel laureate in physics, whose son Nicky was my childhood best friend)house..My mom was an (I think)an attractive young mother of 3..When Sagan and R.P. (Dick)Feynman(sp?)  another Caltech bigwig heard there was a problem with Moms washer,of course they wanted to help."Scientific" interest and all I guess...I come in and both those guys are on the kitchen floor trying to fix it...No dice!!!If anything they made it worse...Still had to call a repairman, but made for a helluva family story..Sagans kids were obnoxious BTW....That's the story in a nutshell...I have BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF STORIES .....
