Back in 97 when I purchased 1680 the engine had never been removed as it had only 36k miles true odo reading; I found my coil on the drivers side; most pictures of nicely restored 66 Shelby's shows them on the passenger side? Did they come both ways?

Driver side placement of the GT 350 coil is a common owner change. Factory was on the passenger side . Thermactor cars had coil mounted on top of the intake.

Passenger side head only for 66 Shelby's. Goes for 66 K codes in Mustangs also ;)

Some owners just though it looked neater to move them to the drivers side - sort of to get them away from the oil dip stick.

Non  K code Thermactor equipped 66's had them located on the passenger side of the intake but that was a non-K code application

Amazing how long it takes to do what one thinks is a small thing to do! Slightly moved the dipstick tube; then heater hose to the left or right of coil ! Touched up my clumsy areas ; there " TA DA " what do you think?
