Lemans Valve Covers - FROM THE 70s?
« on: August 25, 2019, 02:45:02 PM »
Bought these at a swap meet in Phoenix.  Have been sitting in my garage for about a year.  They have Shelby numbers on them.
$350 with shipping. Would look great in a cobra kit car or on your S code mustang.  We all know these aren't right for a GT500.

If they were black wrinkle paint finished they would be more correct for a 68 GT500 or KR.

The ones shown above are very similar to the ones on my KR when I bought it in 1982.  (Yes, I realize the finish isn't correct...thanks to Mr. Gaines and others.)

I've posted about these previously, but here they are again.

Note the different font for the same S7MS6582 part number (my covers compared to Mike James') and its orientation in relation to the mold marks.

Thoughts?

I don't know.   Are yours polished or chromed?  Mine are chromed.

The black paint on mine is glossy.  Also, mine have two holes drilled on the top pad for spark plug wire separators.

Might just have been a matter of a different date/run of manufacture at the valve cover factory.

My paint is a tad less glossy than yours if I was guessing and there are no holes for the spark plug separators

Reverse Auction.  Reduced to $250 with shipping.  That is as low as I will go.
