And, there are only a small number of cars (26 total) that are in the National Historic Vehicle Registry. Don’t know if that will have impact, but still a differentiator among different vehicles.

As Dana Mecum said (and I quote), “This ain’t no car! This is a piece of pop culture!”

Actually, it can be both. 🤪

Is there a 20 year old who just won the Power Ball? That's who will buy this thing.

You can't go with anything that an auctioneer says. They are the same as a traveling circus side show barker selling maybe rubber bands as classic IQ boosters from the '50s for $10 each with a certificate of authentication signed by the Ring Master...serial numbered too.

Chicken cup. Lol! Makes me believe I woefully underpaid for my original Shelby World Champ tee from 1965.

Beat down old green fastbacks trade in the 20-25k range, beat down old worn out COBRAS trade in the 1,000,000 range . There is a generational difference between cars.

Ok a lot of good opinions so far.  Lets talk about what kind of people will be bidding on this car.  Better yet what kind of bidder will end up with it.  Is it: A) the Steve McQueen fan B) the Mustang fan C) the movie lover fan

Maybe one of the museum/collector guys?  Hendrick, Simeone, Staluppi, Leno etc.

I'm thinking John Staluppi.  He just sold everything and started over.

Get in at ground level and start buying up the cars on Ford versus Ferrari.

If you are headed to the auction in Kissimmee Florida and you are a current MCA member.

You are eligible for complementary Mecum bidders and admissions passes. Contact the MCA directly.

I am predicting a collector to bid it up to 3.25 Mil.

Then they HE may have to get this to have a place to write the check:
