Tire shine is a type of grease. You are just turning your tire into banana skins. Use a pressure washer to clean your tires. Armour-all will actually cause the rubber to crack.

Other types of tire treatments have similar results. Don't use them.

I only use...don't laugh...hair spray. I have used this for 50+ years and it gives a natural shine not a dipped in oil shine like the tire treatments do. I just spray on and wipe it off the tire and any that gets on the wheel. You have to reapply every time you wash the car since it washes off. :-X

On a 50 year old street car lack of traction is fun.

Hairspray gets very sticky in the heat. Just don't light a match near it. It might actually help with traction.

In The Doghouse

When my dad worked for Goodyear 50 years ago, the salesmen were given an instruction sheet from the higher ups telling them to use Lemon Pledge on the display tires, so that is what I always used.

Lemon pledge is what I use on the interior...Just spray and wipe or in an area where you don't want to spray there is usually enough on the cloth to suffice... This is all old school stuff... ;D   ::)
