export braces.
« on: January 10, 2020, 07:56:51 AM »
On the auction below the braces seem to be mounted wrong on the firewall. Am I correct on this? All the original cars I ever dealt with the braces mount UNDER the cowl lip-not above it. Were some been documented the other way? Thanks. Gary

Always under the bottom side metal curves  downward on the outer edges on the reinforced braces and don't lay flat when installed on top side besides it looks odd when installed that way.

A good friend of mine had his installed by the shop who did his engine and repainted his 67 390 FB(beautiful award winning car in Brit blue). His braces are OVER the cowl lip on the blue paint. I had to tell him I thought they were wrong as I have never seen them installed that way then I saw this "multiple award winner" (what awards exactly?) 70 Shelby with the braces mounted wrong so I had to ask. Many Chassis assy drawings for 69 show the braces under ...Thanks Ed. Gary
