Nothing beats a classic!

Great looking car.  I like it in both Day 1 restored status and in that awesome period race trim.

This # 889, Oh, please paint the cat on the side again

Tony Conover would kick my #@ss if I did that.   :)

If you did them in removable vinyl letters you could have the best of both worlds. Won't hurt the paint and lets everyone know the history of the car. I like the 2 day look quite a bit. It does separate it from all the other Vin numbers-

Vinyl letters always leaves mark in the paint if they stay long time enough on the car , even with polishing the paint after , beware;)

I have to say I vote for the day 2 look.

If you can, give it the day two look. I have been going to the Mid America Shelby Meet since 1983. I sure miss the days. When so many of the cars, did not look exactly like they did off the show room floor. Lots of cars have lost there history.

Lots of Day 2 fans.  Let me see what I think when it gets here.  It could be fun to have it made up from static cling.

Lots of Day 2 fans.

     Yep, me too! (now whether my opinion is of any value?    ::)   ).

     I always appreciate the appearance, the in-depthness of the research and the work to bring the cars back to the correct original condition, absolutely; but I also appreciate a car that demonstrates its' use and purpose in period, as this is a part of the living history of these vehicles also.

     As a proper "Day 2" presentation, I feel it's sorta like, ones' acknowledgement of an athlete for how they were in competition, hence one impugns value upon their sports jersey, versus say how they were as born, or as a child; but also when just some "things" & "stuff" have been done with no historical relevance, this perhaps is comparable to just collecting the dirty diapers      :o

     Now...........I've stepped it in!     ::)

It doesn't really leave a mark, what happens is, the Paint around the Vinyl fades.  I have been putting Vinyl on my Cars and others since 2004.

Car 889 (1966) is now living next to Car 2714 (1967) and Car 157 (2005).  Tony Conover sold me the car and he was a real nice guy to deal with.  The car was expensive but I felt like I got a good solid citizen.  Here is a shot.

Congratulations. Red. My favorite color.
