   As Doug said , simply adding a divider back in the center will help tremendously. I see no problem with running it on the 260 as the ports are small on that manifold. It will be fine .

On a 260 c.i.d engine use small 4V for nice drive on the street manners. Something like a Ford B9AZ-9510-A Holley List-1848 has an actual flow rate of around 410-415 cfm I would guess and is late 1950s and 1960s something people used on small displacement engines for mild 'hop ups'.
